First Sponsors Confirmed

A number of our regular sponsors have confirmed their support for this year’s event.

The Army Painter will be supplying paint sets for the Avatar of Artistry painting competition.

Many thanks to these three sponsors, and look out for more news in the coming weeks.

Same Venue, New Space

Due to some logistical reasons at the venue, this year we will be utilising the downstairs atrium area of the building. This will still provide us with plenty of space for 100 players, though without the stage. Bar service will still be available, plus we will have on-site car park access this year as we have avoided the university’s open day.

Everything you need to know about the UK Malifaux Nationals weekend

The venue will be open on Friday afternoon from 3-6pm for set up. Any help would be appreciated.

On Saturday registration is from 8:15am, with Round 1 planned for 9am. We should be finished by 7:30pm. On Sunday Round 5 is at 9:30 am and we aim to be finished by 6:30pm.

Goody bag. Every player will receive a goody bag at registration. It will contain a postcard showing the weekend’s schedule and details of our sponsors. The other content is a closely guarded secret! You will also receive a score sheet detailing the first 6 rounds. Round 7 details will be issued upon providing round 6 results!

Refreshments. Coffee, tea and porridge pots will be available all day, with donations to our charity, Willen Hospice. The bar will be open from 11am on Saturday, and noon on Sunday. Snacks are available from the bar. On Saturday the café downstairs will be open (due to the university open day). On Sunday you will need to eat out or order in.

Parking. There will be no car parking spaces available on the university site due to the open day. For details of local car parks see the event website here.

Terrain. Although the organiser is providing the majority of the terrain, contributions from players would be much appreciated, but please let me know in advance. There will be a mini raffle for those who contribute.

Bring and Buy. On Saturday there will be space for you to bring in any ‘spare’ or unwanted Malifaux models so that others can buy them. A donation to charity for each sale would be appreciated. Thank you to Ruth who will be organising this.

Tombola. Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors there are sufficient items for everyone to get something. As with previous years this will be undertaken in the form of a free tombola. During Round 3 every player will receive a raffle ticket which they can exchange for the relevant item which will have been randomly drawn.

Charity Raffle. There will be the usual skewed raffle on Sunday, with all proceeds going to Willen Hospice. Tickets will be £1 each and we have around a dozen, rather splendid prizes. Non-attendees may also purchase tickets. Cash or Paypal accepted.

Avatar of Artistry. The painting competition will take place on Sunday. Please note that models will be on display throughout the day so you won’t be able to use them for gaming. Voting for crew and diorama will be electronic via google forms (thanks Emma). The organising team will decide on the best painted Iconic model. There is specific sponsorship for this competition, and there should also be a small momento for every entrant.

Clean up. On Sunday, following Round 7, it would be appreciated if everyone helped with packing away terrain, transferring it to the car, and generally tidying up. Awards and raffle will take place once this is completed.

Many thanks to our sponsors.
